Community-Based Rehabilitation Program aims at promoting the access of people with disabilities to their various rights by working on the individual level and the community/ structural level. The long-term vision is to enable societies and local communities to take responsibilities towards people with disabilities to guarantee their inclusion in all aspects of life. The Program is based on the CBR approach as founded by ILO & WHO.

By community-based, we mean that rehabilitation as well as other interventions are conducted by reaching people with disabilities in their residences. This approach has emerged to de-centralize services that are provided in the main cities. The CBR team reaches the most far and marginalized areas within the West Bank, including Area C, H2, and Seam Zone.

The CBR Program works by building local networks and partnerships, especially with local councils and municipalities. The Program has CBR workers inside these institutions to facilitate its work within each locality. Through CBR workers, the Program is able to reach new people who are in need of assessments and interventions. The Program registers people reached through a registration form that has all needed data to build intervention plans accordingly.

The CBR Program has solid interventions towards disability and people with disabilities and delivers them through eight specialized units. These are Outreach Supervision, Field Rehabilitation, Education, Economic Empowerment, Mental Health, Social Protection, Advocacy and Research, and Community Development.
