The community center in Al-Khader is one of the community centers that is technically supervised by the Community-based Rehabilitation (CBR) Program in Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation (BASR). It holds a registration accredited by the Ministry of Interior. It was established in 1986 and was approved as an association in 1997. It serves the Al-Khader region, the western countryside, some camps and the surrounding areas from Nahalin, Battir, Beit Jala, Dheisheh, Aida, Al-Azza and Bethlehem. The association targets people with disabilities of all types and degrees from the age of 3 to 12 years. The association consists of a school and a kindergarten that adopt inclusive education, in addition to a speech rehabilitation department to qualify students for classes. It also consists of a bakery to generate income. The estimated number of students enrolled in all its facilities is about 300 male and female students.
In 2010, Al-Mustaqbal School was established in the association and obtained a registration and license approved by the Ministry of Education. It provides education services for the primary levels from first to sixth grade. It adopts an inclusive education policy and is equipped to receive cases of persons with disabilities of all classifications and degrees except for those with full visual difficulties. As for the Al-Khader Kindergarten in the association, it was established in 1987 and obtained a registration and license approved by the Ministry of Education. It targets children from 3 to 5 years old by adopting an inclusive education policy. They receive children with disabilities to promote the idea of inclusion and acceptance from the primary stages of childhood. It consists of two classes, a kindergarten class, and a pre-school class.
